Welcome to Class Clown Media's Book Reviews! Where we take a look at books that can help you build your brand and enhance your business!

This week, we are taking a look at Denise Lee Yohn's book "What Great Brands Do: The Seven Brand-Building Principles that Separate the Best from the Rest."

In her book, Lee dives in and dissects brands we know and love and helps us understand why they were able to establish themselves as household names, or on the flipside, how they went from greatness, to a mere memory in many consumers eyes.

One of my favorite takeaways from this book was that your brand is more than your logo and slogan. Lee also goes into the facts about what many brands do that may cause them to fail and ultimately send the wrong message to their potential customer.

While this book was a little more of a dense read and contained a ton of case studies to explain the authors claim, I do believe with some time and attention this book will be a benefit to you in making decisions around your own personal brand.

Chapters in this book go over how brands ignore trends, don't chase customers, and how brands don't sell products, they sell emotions.

I would rate this read a 7.5 out of 10. If you are a business owner trying to move from just selling your product or service, to selling an experience. I would highly recommend you pick up a copy of this book.
